A Brief Bio
“Each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible.” (Viktor E. Frankl)
Ronnie was born in the US to parents who were immigrants from different countries; his father, a Holocaust survivor from Poland, and his mother, a 9th generation Israeli. Ronnie received a traditional Jewish education and learned early on how to move between languages, cultures, and traditions.
Although Ronnie has found himself manifesting many identities in life, there is one identity he has never shunned or doubted: that of a “seeker”, a seeker of meaning of life and of meaning in his life. At age 21, Ronnie immigrated to Israel, several years later he left for East Asia, where he spent close to 5 years, immersing himself in the languages, martial arts, and philosophical, psychological and spiritual teachings of the East. Much of this wisdom guides him today.
It took Ronnie some years to realize that his deepest purpose in life is not only to seek meaning for himself but to help others to do the same in their lives. There is no greater challenge, opportunity and sense of fulfillment than to do this in our Second Half of Life, when our identities, roles, and experience call us to evolve into our “wisdom years”.
Ronnie has found that the deepest mission for him since turning sixty, four years ago, has been to delve into the profound legacy he has received from his father, a Holocaust survivor who lost most of his family and went on to rebuild his life carrying the memories of his loved ones with him at all times. Ronnie has found much meaning in exploring his life as a “second generation” and has gone on to receive his Phd in Wisdom Studies, writing his dissertation on “Reflections of children of Holocaust survivors in their second half of life, on their life experience.”
